Understanding ORE on Solana: A Newbie’s Guide to Mining Digital Gold

Before we get into this though, heads up Cyphers: Weekly Revenue just went out again to stakers.

Payout numbers? 26 $SOL ($4,851.30)

• Current APR: 38.62%

• Total rewards distributed: 261 $SOL

You don’t stake or spread the $Cypher gospel nearly enough, frens.

Now back to today’s alpha:

If you’re new to cryptocurrency, it would do you a lot of good to think of Solana as a super-fast highway for digital money and apps—unlike Bitcoin’s slower, energy-hungry road. But that’s not to say that the forerunner isn’t loved by all and paved the way.

Solana uses “Proof-of-Stake” (PoS), where users lock up coins to validate transactions, but it doesn’t let you “mine” tokens like Bitcoin’s Proof-of-Work (PoW). Validators are a thing, a huge thing and while not many can afford to be one, it is essential for this particular post that if your interest is piqued, then you do some homework and find out how validators work.

Enter ORE: the first truly minable token on Solana, blending Bitcoin’s mining thrill with Solana’s speed and low costs.

Launched in 2024 by anonymous developer “Hardhat Chad,” ORE recreates early Bitcoin vibes—fair launches, no pre-mined insider hauls—but anyone can join using a laptop, phone, or even a browser. It’s not just hype; ORE hit $1000+ per token at peak and now powers real revenue on Solana, with daily mining rewards worth millions.

At its core, ORE is an SPL token (Solana’s standard for fungible assets) with a max supply of 21 million, mimicking Bitcoin’s scarcity over 40+ years.

One ORE mints every minute, distributed via PoW puzzles solved off-chain, then verified on Solana in seconds.

This “DrillX” algorithm is CPU-friendly (not GPU farms), ensuring casual miners aren’t edged out by big rigs. ORE’s twist? Rewards scale with staked ORE holdings (up to 5x boost), and protocol fees (11% per mine) fund buybacks, refining (burning supply), and yields—turning mining into a revenue-sharing ecosystem.

As of November 2025, ORE’s market cap hovers around $50 million, with $200K+ daily revenue from fees, making it Solana’s “rev chain” darling. It’s traded on DEXs like Jupiter, but liquidity is nascent—expect volatility.

Why mine ORE?

Look.

It’s accessible: no $10K ASIC needed. Rewards are probabilistic—submit valid hashes every epoch (1 minute), and winners share the pot.

But beware: it’s not free money. Mining burns SOL for fees (0.000005 SOL per attempt), and congestion can spike costs. V1 (2024) clogged Solana with spam, but V2 fixed this with efficient verification and anti-bot measures.

Now, it’s battle-testing Solana’s scalability while onboarding millions.

Risks?

High: 95% of blocks lose SOL, scams lurk, and prices swing wildly (up 110% in a day recently).

Remember to test at first for your appetite as with anything and decide if it’s worth it.

How to “Mine” ORE: Step-by-Step for Beginners

1. Set Up a Solana Wallet: Download Phantom or Backpack (free apps).

Create a wallet, backup your seed phrase (12-24 words—never share!).

Fund it with 0.1-0.5 SOL (~$15-75) via exchange like Binance. This covers fees; SOL isn’t consumed, just transacted.

2. Create an ORE Account: Visit ore.supply (official site).

Connect your wallet, click “Create Account” (costs ~0.001 SOL). This links your wallet to ORE—import the keypair if CLI-bound.

3. Choose Your Mining Method

   – Browser (Easiest): On ore.supply, connect wallet, hit “Mine.” It runs CPU puzzles in-browser. Stake ORE for boosts. Expect 0.001-0.01 ORE/hour on a basic laptop.

   – Wallet App (Backpack): In-app mining—deploy SOL to a 5×5 grid (25 blocks/epoch). Pick edges/corners for better odds (4% win rate). Winners split losers’ SOL + 1 ORE.

   – CLI (Advanced, Profitable): Install Rust/Solana CLI (via docs.solana.com).

Run: `cargo install ore-supply`.

Command: `ore –rpc https://api.mainnet-beta.solana.com –keypair ~/.config/solana/id.json –priority-fee 50000 mine –cores 8`.

Use 8 cores on an M1 Mac; And you can tweak fees for speed.

Check rewards: `ore rewards`;

Claim: `ore claim 0.1`.

This is not an extensive guide, but if your interest is piqued enough then head over to ore.supply!

4. Optimize & Claim: Stake mined ORE for multipliers.

Monitor via Solscan.io (search ORE address: oreoU2P8bN6jkk3jbaiVxYnG1dCXcYxwhwyK9jSybcp).

Plus, they say you should claim weekly to avoid dust.

Run 24/7 on a VPS (~$5/month) for passive gains.

ORE democratizes mining, but start small—treat it like a lottery with skill. With Solana’s ecosystem (DeFi, NFTs), mined ORE unlocks yields >20% APY.

As adoption grows (no CEX yet, but whispers), it could be Solana’s BTC.

Mine responsibly; fortune favors the persistent.

As of November 3, 2025, the live price of one ORE token (the minable token on Solana) is $117.18 USD.

This reflects real-time data from major trackers, with a 24-hour trading volume of approximately $4.79 million.

Note that crypto prices are highly volatile—ORE has surged over 50% in the past week amid broader Solana ecosystem gains, but it can swing quickly.

So, will you broaden your horizons and test it out with us this week? Look forward to hearing your thoughts on ORE.
