Solana’s big yearly convention-party, called Breakpoint, is happening! It takes place this year on December 11th to 13th, yesterday. 

More than 6,000 people have been recorded in attendance. That’s amazing, and from the videos we’ve seen so far, it feels like a mix of a tech conference, music festival and a giant group chat all rolled in one. 

 What’s Actually Happening There?

• Lots of Solana companies have shown up and announced new stuff happening with and for them live on stage (over 80 big announcements).
  
  
• Instead of just talk panels though, most of the time has been spent showing new apps and products, with some launching.
  
  
• There have been parties, free merch and even people shaving heads. Baldpoint, innit? 

The Biggest News 

1. Firedance is live! It was a quiet announcement just over an hour ago from the time of writing this, but it is live on mainnet! Will give you guys updates on stats soon enough! 

2. Big banks and countries are now using Solana for real money stuff:
   
   
   • JPMorgan put real company debt on Solana.
     
     
   • The country of Bhutan turned some of its gold into digital tokens on Solana.
     
     
   • Huge funds are getting ready to launch in 2026.

3. Easier trading and lending
   
   
   • Coinbase now lets you buy any Solana token straight in their normal app (no extra steps).
     
     
   • Jupiter (a popular Solana swap app) launched its own dollar coin and a lending service.
     
     
   • New apps launched for super-fast perpetual trading (betting on price moves) with almost no delay.
     
     
4. New toys for normal people
   
   
   • Kamino is making it possible to borrow money for a fixed time and fixed interest rate (like a normal bank loan, but on Solana).
     
     
   • Solana Mobile showed teasers of their new phone (Seeker).
